Our full-service design approach is comprised of five sequential phases. Our workflow starts with your vision, then we clarify it into a concept and develop it into a design. Next, we turn your vision into reality and make it perfect. Explore our process in-depth below.
After we receive your initial inquiry, we will send you a link to a fun, easy questionnaire, which will help us begin to get to know you, what you have in mind for your project, and when you are thinking about getting started.
After we have received your answers to the questionnaire, we will reach out to schedule an initial design consultation and site visit, so we can walk the space together and continue to learn about your vision for the project, and how you want to live in your space.
After our design consultation, we will send you a list of all of the things we heard from you, so that you have a chance to make sure we captured it correctly. You may have things to add, things to remove, or things to clarify… all good!
After we have gotten your approval of the Pre-Proposal Checklist, we will send you a formal proposal and service agreement.
We will start by gathering all of the inspiration you have, in any format you have it! Clippings, Pinterest boards, Instagram saves, drawings on napkins… you name it, we want it.
You know better than anyone how you want to live in your space, and it’s our job to help you share that vision with us. This will happen organically through ongoing conversations — we are at your disposal. As we learn we will produce initial idea boards and sketches to capture your vision.
As we flesh out the design concept, the scope of work may change, and we will ensure that it remains up to date, and in line with your budget.
With a firm scope in hand, the final step in this phase of the process is for us to share a formal design concept with you, complete with idea boards, drawings, renderings and samples, so you can see your vision taking shape as a formal design concept. We will have an opportunity to make final revisions after you have digested the presentation and provided us with feedback.
We will finalize selections for all furniture, fixtures, and finishes with you, to make sure that you are completely on board with the design as it is being finalized.
As we move from concept to development, we will be delivering final floorplans, interior elevations, lighting plans, tile plans, and other construction drawings to the contractors and skills tradespeople, so they will have everything that they need from us.
We will manage the Master Materials Purchase List, where all of our selections, budget, availability and timing considerations come together to facilitate purchasing.
In addition to making sure the contractors and skilled tradespeople have the technical information that they need from us, we will be instrumental in project schedule coordination, so that each team is ready to deliver at the right time, and keep our project on pace.
Timing is everything, and purchasing is a pain. We will manage purchasing of all finish materials, fixtures and furniture to coincide with the construction and installation timing of the project schedule.
Contractors, skilled tradespeople and specialty installers get to work. We are there with them to make sure that the design is intact every step of the way.
Lead times vary, and it is our job to make sure that you don’t have to worry about them. Everything will be shipping to our warehouse and stored in a temperature controlled environment until it is ready to be delivered to the job site.
We coordinate final installation of finishes, fixtures, furniture and decor, bringing your vision all the way from concept to your space, where you live.
Once everything is (almost) said and done, you may see a thing or two that you would like to add to make things perfect. This is the time.
