Neo-Colonial Revival ∙ Residential
Nestled on land once home to an 18th-century farmstead, this property had lost its historic charm to a 1990s-era redesign that no longer met the needs of our client. Our mission was to restore a sense of timelessness, while creating functional, inviting spaces for a blended family of six.
The project began with an extensive exterior transformation:
- A full façade renovation, including new Hardie Board siding, stonework, and historically appropriate windows.
- Patios and landscaping re-engineered to enhance the home’s presence and longevity.
Inside, we reimagined the home’s core gathering spaces.
- The Family Room, once underutilized, now offers hidden storage behind custom millwork panels.
- The Breakfast Room features a curved banquette, an inviting anchor for daily meals.
- A custom smoked mirror fireplace surround and a Calacatta Monet marble mantel add elegance to the Formal Living Room.
For us (and our clients), function is as important as beauty. We reconfigured the second and third floors, ensuring:
- Each child had a dedicated bedroom.
- A former jack-and-jill suite became a nursery and spacious laundry room.
- A Bonus Room was transformed into matching bedrooms for two brothers.
- An au pair suite was seamlessly integrated for privacy and comfort.
In the Master Bathroom, tranquility meets luxury—a wet room with a soaking tub, steam shower, and floating marble bench, making for a comfortable and luxurious retreat.
