Laurel Tree 2.0
Modern Rustic Revival

Building on the transformation of the home’s private family spaces, this next phase extends the same thoughtful approach to the entry hall, formal rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Clean modern lines, natural tones, rustic textures, and warm brass hardware create a layered foundation, balanced by the character of the clients’ existing antiques.

In the entry hall, custom casework and millwork were introduced to give this newer home the craft and charm of a Pennsylvania center hall colonial. Muted paint tones create an English-inspired backdrop, while handmade silk embroidered wallpaper, existing antiques, and contemporary warm brass lighting create a collected country house look with a modern point of view.

The private family spaces take a more relaxed approach, pairing contemporary furnishings and lighting with natural materials and clean-lined forms. In one bedroom, botanical wallpaper and a soft blush palette evoke a Cotswold country retreat, layered with antiques and contemporary lighting for a feeling of casual comfort and relaxed elegance.

Throughout the home, the bathrooms were refinished with a clean, architectural sensibility:

  • Heavy marble and natural stone paired with burnished brass.

  • Custom wallpaper and bespoke bathroom millwork.

  • Parquet-inspired tile floors for warmth and pattern.

The result is a home where traditional antiques, handcrafted details, and modern design come together to create a collected, comfortable interior that feels timeless yet distinctly current.
